McCracken Brake & Tire is the place to come for Massachusetts state inspections, tires, brakes, and alignments. Walk-ins welcome — no appointment needed for most services. We're also the only McCracken location open on Saturdays, because we know weekends are when life actually happens. Most customers are in within 3–4 days for scheduled work.

Getting Here: We're at the Shell Station on VFW Parkway in West Roxbury — the one near the Dedham line. Easy to find, free parking on site. A short drive from West Roxbury centre, Dedham, and Roslindale.

Do I need an appointment for a state inspection?

Nope, you’re welcome to walk right in! State inspections are first come, first served at Brake & Tire. If you want a guaranteed time, you can book ahead, but most people just show up.

What happens if my car doesn't pass inspection?

We’ll tell you exactly what failed, what it would cost to fix, and what your options are. No pressure — you make the call.

Are you open on Saturdays?

Yes — Saturdays 8am–1pm. We’re the only McCracken location open on weekends.

Do you do alignments?

Yep, alignments are done here at Brake & Tire.

What tire brands do you carry?

We carry BFGoodrich, Michelin, and Uniroyal. We’re happy to walk you through your best options based on your car, your driving habits, and your budget.

Can I get brakes done here without an appointment?

Walk-ins are welcome but we recommend booking ahead for brake jobs (it helps us make sure we have the right parts on hand for your car).
